a. What time does the watch show when the correct time is 12 noon on Friday, assuming the watch has not been reset again?
From 12 noon Wednesday to 12 noon Friday, it's 48 hrs
It gains 4 min every three hrs, therefore
4 * = 64 min which is 1 hr 4 min
It will show 01:04 Pm
:
b. The watch is reset again to show the correct time at 12 noon on Friday.
What is the correct time when the watch is showing 19:40 on Friday night?
Find the relationship between the correct elapsed time to the watch time
3 hrs 4 min to 3 hrs
184/180 = 1.022
convert 7 hr 40 min to min: 7*60 + 40 = 460 min
let t = the correct elapsed time in minutes
1.0222t = 460
t = 460/ 1.222
t = 450 min
convert to hrs and min 450 min = 7 hrs 30 min,
Correct time 19:30, when the watch says 19:40
