Two numbers differ by two
x and x+2
Four times the smaller number is two more than twice the bigger number.
4(x) = 2(x+2) + 2
Multiply out
4x = 2x + 4 + 2
Collect like terms
4x - 2x = 4 + 2
2x = 6
x = 3
Smaller number = 3
Larger number = 5
Hope this helps.
