Question 915168: my new toyota costs $14000. Each month,it depreciates $100. In how many months will it be worth only $10000
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
14,000 - 100x = 10,000

-100x = 10,000 - 14,000

-100x = -4,000

x = -4,000/(-100)

x = 40

It will take 40 months.

40 months = 40/12 = 3 remainder 4 = 3 years, 4 months
