Question 90380: How can I Determine which two equations represent perpendicular lines.
(a) y = 2x – 6
(b) y = x + 6
(c) y = – x + 6
(d) y = x – 6

Answer by checkley75(3666) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a) has a slope of 2
b) has a slope of 1
c) has a slope of -1
d) has a slope of 1
Any perpendicular line must have a slope of the negative reciprical of the line it is pwerpendicular to. Thus:
Line c) is perpendicular to both lines b) & d).
