use the Remainder Theorem which says
the answer is f(1)= 1-1+1-1+4 = 4

Use synthetic division:

........1....1....1.....0.....0...0....0...|..4
---------------------
Dividing by x-1 gives a Quotient of x^6+x^5+x^4+1
and a Remainder of 4
