Question 892568: Mel plans to fence his yard for his new puppy. The yard is a 28 ft by 56 ft rectangle. Fencing costs $11 per 10 ft section. What is the cost of the fence not including unused fencing?
Answer by LinnW(1048)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The cost is $11 per 10 ft or $1.10 per foot.
Since the yard is 28 by 56, the perimeter
is 28 + 56 + 28 + 56 = 168
168*1.10 = $184.80 to fence the yard.
Notice that 17 sections of 10 ft need to be
purchased for 17*$11 = $187
