My 2-digit house number has the following properties:
Use elimination, and we only can have integers
:
(i) When MULTIPLIED BY 2, the result is still a 2-digit number.
Between 10 to 49
:
(ii) When this new number is DIVIDED BY 3, the result is still a 2-digit number.
33/11, 36/12, 39/13, 42/14, 45/15, 48/16
:
(iii) When this new number is MULTIPLIED BY 4, the result is again a 2-digit number.
48, 52, 56, 60, 64
:
(iv) When this new number is DIVIDED BY 5, This result is once again a 2-digit number.
Only one number divided by 5 yields an integer which is 12
:
What is my house number?
working back thru each stage, (iv) 12, (iii)60, (ii) 45 is the house number
