Question 865924: How do you show this math problem? You have 31 students who need to sell 400 candy bars at $.25 a piece
Is there more than one way to show this?
Thank You

Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The problem is not clear.
Does each student have to sell 400 candy bars or are there 400 candy for the group?
I will assume 400 for the group.
There is no problem since no question is asked.
There is nothing to setup.
Some questions might be:
How much money will be received if all are sold?
400*.25=100 dollars
How many candy bars need to be sold by each student?
400/31 almost 13 candy bars each
31*12=372
31*13=403
3 students will receive 12 and 28 will receive 13
