distance out = distance back
(rate)(time) out = (rate)(time) back
the respective times are given as 6 and 8
the rate out is 10 + the rate back
use a variable to represent the rate back
plug in the resulting expressions for rate out and rate back
plug in 6 and 8 for the times
solve the resulting equation for the variable
