In the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, the percent of moisture that falls as snow rather than rain is approximated by P%=10.0 ln h-80,where P is the percent of snow moisture at an altitude h feet. What altitude corresponds to 5 percent snow moisture? Round to the nearest hundred feet.
I need help. I am so confused.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the percent of moisture that falls as snow rather than rain is approximated by P%=10.0 ln h-80,where P is the percent of snow moisture at an altitude h feet. What altitude corresponds to 5 percent snow moisture? Round to the nearest hundred feet.
--------
P% = 10*ln(h-80)
----
Your Problem:
5 = 10*ln(h-80)
ln(h-80) = 1/2
h-80 = e^(1/2) = 1.65
---
height = 81.65 ft
height = 100 ft when rounded to the nearest hundred
