I'm having a little difficulty with setting this one up. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Stan and Hilda can mow a lawn in 40 minutes if they work together. If Stan takes twice as long to mow the lawn as Hilda when working alone, how long does it take each to move the lawn alone?

Let hild take x hours
so she does 1/x of the job in 1 hour
Stan does the job in 2x hours
so he does 1/2x of the job in 1 hour
together they do the job in 40/60 - 2/3 hours
so they do 3/2 of the job in 1 hour
1/x + 1/2x = 3/2
multiply equation by 2x
2+1=3x
3=3x
x=1
Hild can do the job alone in 1 hour
stan in 2 hours
