Question 800281: hello folks could you help me solve this? I am unclear of the process involved so if you could show me it would be great....Thank you.
Two angles are complementary. the measure of one angle is 1 1/2 times the measure of the other. Find the measure of each angle.

Two angles are complementary, means the two angles add up to 90
A + B = 90
:
the measure of one angle is 1 1/2 times the measure of the other.
A = 1.5B
:
Find the measure of each angle.
Using the 1st equation replace A with 1.5B
1.5B + B = 90
2.5B = 90
B = 90/2.5
B = 36 degrees
then
A + 36 = 90
A = 90 - 36
A = 54 degrees
:
:
Check: 54/36 = 1.5 as it says
