We know the surface area of a cube to be
(since its base*height*number of faces)
Now plug in 24 into the original equation

So lets solve for x
Divide both sides by 6
Take the square root of both sides
So our original dimensions are 2 feet by 2 feet
Now if we triple the original dimensions we get
2*3=6
So plug 6 into x

So the new surface area is 216 sq ft
