Question 771581: The sum of three numbers is 107 . The third number is 7 less than the first . The second number is 2 times the third. What are the numbers?
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First number = x
Third number = x - 7
Second number = 2(x - 7)
x + 2(x - 7) + x - 7 = 107
x + 2x - 14 + x - 7 = 107
Collect like terms.
4x - 21 = 107
4x = 128
x = 32
First number = 32
Second number = 50
Third number = 25
Total = 107.
Hope this helps.
