Question 767877: A carpenter is constructing a frame for a rectangular picture. If the sides of the picture have a ratio of 4:3 and the shorter side is 42 cm long, how much framing material does he need to complete the frame?
Answer by anukamal(7) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let l be the length of rectangular frame
let b be the breadth of rectangular frame.
= l:b=4:3
= l=4/3b
As b=42cm
so, l=4/3*42
l=56cm
Total frame required will be
=2(l+b)
=2(56+42)
=2(98)
=196cm
