Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A machine makes 36 widgets in 20 minutes. At that rate, how many widgets will the machine make in an 8-hour day?
------
8 hours = 8*60 = 480 minutes
--------------
Use a proportion:
x/480 = 36/20
------
x = 480(26/20)
---
x = 24*26 = 624 widgets in 8 hrs.
