The sum of two integers is 23. If the larger integer is one less than twice the smaller, then find the larger integer.
------------------------------
Equations:
a + b = 23
a = 2b-1
-----
Substitute for "a" and solve for "b":
2b-1+b = 23
3b = 24
b = 8
----
a = 23-8 = 15
------------------
