Question 755435: Solve word problem: A 240 inch pipe is cut into 2 pieces. One of the pieces is three times the length of the other, find the length of the pieces. I have no idea how to even set up a problem like this where the teacher can see a solved equation or chart. I came up with the larger side being 180 and the smaller side being 60 but I came up with it in my own way.
