1/2 OF THE CORD (12)AND THE RADIUS (13) FORM 2 SIDES OF A RIGHT TRIANGLE. THE THIRD SIDE IS THE DISTANCE FROM THE CENTER. THUS:
12^2+X^2=13^2
144+X^2=169
X^2=169-144
X^2=25
X=5 DISTANCE FROM THE CENTER.
