Let n = "a number"
the equation for the statement," 3/4 of a number is 48,"
n = 48
multiply both sides by 4
3n = 4(48)
3n = 192
n = 192/3
n = 64 is the number
:
"what is 5/8 of that same number?"
*64 =
Cancel 8 into 64
5 * 8 = 40
