Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
width x
length = x+6
Area = x(x+6)
new width--------x+1
new length ------x+6+2
Area = (x+1)(x+8)
The difference between the areas is 56
(x+1)(x+8)-x(x+6) =56
x^2+9x+8-x^2-6x=56
3x+8=56
3x=48
x=16
width = 16 cm
length = 22cm
