Going on a plane ride and each bag loaded weighs 12, 18, or 22 pounds. If the jet is carrying EXACTLY 1000 pounds of bags, what is the largest number of bags the plane could be carrying?

Best to look for the most of the 12 pound bags. 83 or 82 of them don't quite work. Examining 18+22, this is 40. Looking at 1000-40=960, could 960 be divided by 12 giving no remainder? Yes. 80*12=960.

80 of the 12 pound bags;
1 of the 18 pound bags;
1 of the 22 pound bags.

ANSWER: 82 total count of bags.
