Question 6952: a bookshelf can hold 45 books, each 6.3cm thick. how many books, each of thickness 2.1 can it hold?
Answer by bonster(299)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(45 books)(6.3cm)=283.5 cm

283.5cm=(2.1cm)(x books)

x=135 books

another way to solve this is that we know that 6.3 is 3 times 2.1
so if 6.3=45 books, then multiply 45 books by 3 to get (2.1)(3)=6.3
45x3=135 books
