Question 682806: if b is twice of a, find the value of a, which makes the perimeter of the triangle more than 12 units?
Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given
b = 2a
Known perimeter formula
p = 2b + 2a
Given p > 12 and applying substitution
2(2a) + 2a > 12
4a + 2a > 12
Combine like terms
6a > 12
6a > 12
