The frame will add 2x to the dimensions of the picture, therefore:

The perimeter
2(2x+40) + 2(2x+30) = 156
divide eq by 2
2x+40 + 2x+30 = 78
4x + 70 = 78
4x = 78 - 70
4x = 8
x = 2 cm is width of the frame
