Question 656941: I need help on this problem, cant seem to get the right answer. Here's the question, "A dormitory purchased a new 52-inch HD television for $2046 this year. This was a price that was 7% less than the one they purchased last year. How much was the television that they purchased last year?"
Answer by kevwill(135) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let p be the price they paid last year. Then,
p - 7% = 2046
0.93p = 2046
p = 2200
They paid $2200 last year.
