Cody bikes for 24 km and the doubles his rate and bikes another 17 km. His total time is 5 hours. What was Cody's faster rate?
--------------
d = r*t
t = d/r
-----------
24/r + 17/2r = 5
48 + 17 = 10r
r = 6.5 km/hr for 24 km
r = 13 km/hr for 17 km
