How many men shopped at the store? How many women? How many children?
Answer by flame8855(424) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x is women
y is men
z is children
x+y+z = 500
x+5y+0.01z=500
since x+5y+0.01z=500
so the z has to be a multiple of 100 since there are no decimal numbers
100 children would leave 400 people to spend $499. 200 children would leave 300 people to spend $498.
300 children would leave 200 people to spend $497. 400 children would leave 100 people to spend $496
it is about trail and error
the values of x y and z must be whole numbers no decimals
the right answer is 99 men 1 women and 400 children.
