Question 596757: the current I in an electrical conductor varies inversely as the resistance R of the conductor. The current is 9 amperes when the resistance is 970 ohms. What is the current when the resistance is 500 ohms?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I = k/R

9 = k/970

9*970 = k

8730 = k

k = 8730

-------------------------------------------------------

I = k/R

I = 8730/R

I = 8730/500

I = 17.46

So the current is 17.46 amperes.
