A moving company is looking to purchase a truck to expand their business. The company is in a city where the sales tax is 8%. There is also a $84 title and registration fee to pay. The company plans to spend at least $14,500 but no more than $17,000. What is the price range for the truck?
Let x be the cost of the truck.
Inequality:
14500<=1.08x+84<=17000
Subtract 84 along the line to get:
14416<=1.08x<=16916
Divide thru by 1.08 to get:
13348.15<=x<=15662.96
