Jack usually mows his lawns in 5 hours. Marilyn can mow the same yard in 6 hours.
.
Let x = time (hrs) it takes for both
then
x(1/5 + 1/6) = 1
multiplying both sides by 30:
x(6 + 5) = 30
x(11) = 30
x = 2.73 hours
They could mow the lawn in 2.73 hours if they worked together?
