First find the acceleration of the car. We have

(kilometers per hour, per second). However we want to convert kilometers per hour to meters per second. 1 kph is roughly .2778 m/s, and it turns out that 3.6 kph/s is exactly 1 m/s^2. So a = 1 m/s^2.
