How much 15% HCl must be mixed with 8% HCl to produce 60mL of 9% solution?
-----
HCL + HCL = HCL
----
0.15x + 0.08(60-x) = 0.9*60mL
----
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
15x + 8*60-8x = 9*60
---
7x = 60
x = 8.5714 mL (amt. of 15% solution needed)
