Question 55717: I got this really strange problem! It says: The combined resistance of two resistors R1 and R2 in a parallel circuit is given by the formula
Rr= 1
----
1/R1+1/R2 Simplify the formula.
(the 1 and the two are tiny and sit down on the right of the R's)
Well I ended up with
Rr= 1
----
2/R1+R2
Would this be correct or is there a different way to do this?
Thanks so much!!!

Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Rr= 1
----
1/R1+1/R2 Simplify the formula.
----------
Rr = 1/[1/R1 + 1/R2]
= 1/[R2+R1]/[R1*R2]
Invert and multiply to get:
Rr = {R1*R2]/[R1+R2]
