then
(t-2) = neighbor's mowing time

Let the completed job = 1

multiply by 40 to clear the denominators, results:
5t + 4(t-2) = 40
5t + 4t - 8 = 40
9t = 40 + 8
9t = 48
t = 48/9
t = 5 hrs or 5 hrs 20 min, working together
