Diana has 7 more five-dollar bills than ten-dollar bills. The value of the five-dollar bills equals the value of the ten-dollar bills. How many five-dollar and ten-dollar bills does she have?
-------------
Quantity Equation: f = t + 7 bills
Value Equation: 5f = 10t dollars
----
Modify :
f = 2t
----
Substitute:
2t = t+7
t = 7 (# of $10 bills)
Solve for "f":
f = 2t
f = 2*7 = 14 (# of $5 bills)
