Question 48618: A certain kind of folder was priced at $.50 but found no buyers. The manager of the store decided to reduce the price. Within a few days, she had sold her entire stock of these folders for a total of $31.93. What was the reduced price of the folder and how many did she sell?
Answer by checkley71(8403) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
he sold 103 folders for $ .31 each.
The way I solved this problem was to put $31.93 in a scientific calculator memory & divided it by 49, then 48 then 47 etc. until I got a whole number for the answer of 103 when I divided it by $.31.
There may be other answers but this is the largest number closest to $.50
