Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The walk is of width x on all sides, so the new width and length are
30 + 2x and 40 + 2x

a = 1
b = 35
c = -150

the width of the walk
check
(30 + 7.72)*(40 + 7.72) = 1800
1800 = 1800
OK
