The Johnson County Carnival costs $15 plus $0.50 per ride. The Jefferson County Carnival costs $10 plus $1.00 per ride. How many rides should you plan on
riding to make the Johnson County Carnival less expensive than the Jefferson County Carnival?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x be the number of rides
Johnson 15 + 0.50 x
Jefferson 10 + 1.00 x
Johnson < Jefferson
10 + 1.00 x < 15 + 0.50 x
10 + 1.00 x < 15 + 0.50 x
10 - 15 < 0.5 x -1 x
-5 < -0.5 x
10 < x
x should be greater than 10 rides for Johnson Carnival to be less expensive
