Question 471233: A driver took a day trip driving at two different speeds. He drove 70 miles at a slower speed and 300 miles at a speed 40 miles per hour faster. If the time spent during the faster speed was twice that spent at a slower speed, find the two speeds during the trip.
Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(2)(70/n)=(300/n+40)
140/n=300/n+40
140n+5600=300n
160n=5600
n=35
The slow speed was 35 mph. The faster speed was 75 mph..
