Question 463106: A farmer has 318 feet of fence with which to make a corral. If he arranges it into a rectangle that is twice as long as it is wide, what are the dimensions
Answer by alicealc(293) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
length = l
width = w
perimeter = 318
divide all by 2:
l + w = 159
2w + w = 159
3w = 159
w = 159/3
w = 53
l = 2w = 2 * 53 = 106
so, the dimension will be: 106 feet long and 53 feet wide
