Question 456917: I just can't seem to catch on to word problems - can you help? I need to have a problem similar to the one below and I just do not know how to come up with one:
Jed's student loan totaled $16,200. Part was a Perkins loan made at 5% interests and the rest was a Stafford loan made at 4% interest. After one year, Jed's loans accumulated $715 in interest. What was the amount of each loan?
