Question 455362: I can't seem to figur this out. I don't know where I keep messing up. Can someone please help me with this?
the line y=0.16x + 1.22 represents an estimate of the average cost of gasoline for each year. the line 0.14x - y = -1.30 estimates the price of gasolne in January of each year.
Do you expect the lines to be intersecting, parallel, or perpendicular? Explain your reasoning.
Use the equations of the lines to determine if they are parallel. what did you find.?
Did your answer to part b confirm your epxectation in part a?

I can't seem to figure this out. I don't know where I keep messing up. Can someone please help me with this?
----------------------
The line y=0.16x + 1.22 represents an estimate of the average cost of gasoline for each year.
The line 0.14x - y = -1.30 estimates the price of gasolne in January of each year.
----------
Do you expect the lines to be intersecting, parallel, or perpendicular? Explain your reasoning.
Ans: Since one has a slope of 0.16 and the other has a slope of 0.14
they intersect. Any two line with different slopes will intersect.
---------------------------------------------
Use the equations of the lines to determine if they are parallel. what did you find.?

--------------------------------------------------------------
Did your answer to part b confirm your expectation in part a? Yes
