Equation forming:

Now, for the solving!
w+%2B+w+-+220+=+810
2w+-+220+=+810
2w+=+810+%2B+220
2w+=+1030
w+=+515
So, the winning candidate had 515 of the 810 votes. The rest go for the losing one. It's a fairly easy subtraction: w-220+=+515+-+220+=+295
