The perimeter of some traffic signs must be 78 inches. Also, its length is 13 inches longer than its width. Find the dimensions of this sign.
The width of the sign in Inches:
The Length of the sign in Inches:
-----------------------
Let width be "W"
Then length is "W+13"
---------------------------
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
78 = 2(W+13 + W)
39 = 2W+13
2W = 26
W = 13" (width)
W+13 = 26" (length)
