Question 44018: inverse diviation, joint and combined,
The current I in an electrical conductor varies inversely as the resistance R of the conductor. If the current is 1/2 ampere when the resistance is 240 omhs, what is the current when the resistance is 540 omhs?
please help set this up

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
current I in an electrical conductor varies inversely as the resistance R of the conductor. If the current is 1/2 ampere when the resistance is 240 omhs, what is the current when the resistance is 540 omhs?
I=k/R
Need to find "k".
(1/2)=k/240
k=120
So the equation for this problem is I=240/R
Now, what is the current when the resistance is 540?
I=240/540
I=4/9 amp.

Stan H.
