 If a number is added to the numerator of 11/43 and twice the number is added to the denominator of 11/43, the resulting fraction is equivilant to 1/3. Find the number
:
let x = no. added to the numerator
then
2x = no. added to denominators
:
 =
Cross multiply
3(x+11) = 2x + 43
3x + 33 = 2x + 43
3x - 2x = 43 - 33
x = 10 is the number
