Butch is 4 yrs older than his sister.

butch = x+4

butch's sister = x   |Yes, Super!

Question states***

 (1/3)(x+4) = x-2

Solving for x

  (x+4) = 3x-6

     10 = 2x

       x = 5, sister's age.  butch is 9.  (5+4)
