3x + 2y = 9.50 and 2x +3y = 10.50
But I can't make it work.

3x + 2y = 9.50
2x + 3y = 10.50

We can use elimination here. Multiply the 1st equation by 3, the 2nd equation by 2
9x + 6y = 28.50
4x + 6y = 21.00
-------------------subtracting will eliminate y, find x
5x = 7.50

3(1.50) + 2y = 9.50
4.50 + 2y = 9.50
2y = 9.50 - 4.50
