Question 369897: A new swimming pool opened and on the first three days 246 people went swimming. On the first day 79 people swam. On the second day 47 more people swam than on the third day. How may people swam on the third day?
Answer by neatmath(302)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Let x be the number of people who swam on the third day.

Then we have:

So it appears 60 people swam on the third day.

This means that 107 people swam on the second day.

So 79+107+60 does indeed equal 246, so our math checks out.

I hope this helps!
